At Washington County Memorial Hospital, our Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) program is designed to help slow memory loss for individuals experiencing decline or mild to moderate cognitive
impairments. While no result can be guaranteed, there is substantial evidence that supports CST. CST has been shown to increase cognition, decrease depression, and improve overall quality of life for those experiencing memory loss.

Supporting Memory, Thinking, and Quality of Life

An evidence-based, non-medication intervention designed to slow memory loss, enhance cognition, reduce depression, and improve overall quality of life.

This 7-week program includes:

  • Engaging, thought-provoking articles for discussion
  • Opportunities for participants to share thoughts, reminisce, and engage in cognitive tasks
  • A variety of activities and exercises to stimulate the mind and body

Bridget Bourisaw, a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant–Licensed (COTA-L), leads our CST program with expertise and compassion. She works closely with patients and families to create meaningful, engaging sessions tailored to each participant’s needs.
